The Community Basketball League hosts the best in female talent, especially after Access2Sports and Tower Hamlets Ravens came to play in what was a thrilling game that saw A2S clinch a one-point win over the Ravens to triumph 12-11 on Sunday 27th November 2016.

Both teams kept spectators on the edge of their seats as the first half saw Ravenā€™s Cazzie Lee Pieastro Fontanos attack the basket aggressively to enable her team to lead 6-2 going into the third.

Although, theĀ second half saw great defensive play from both teams, A2Sā€™s Esther Obuekwe began to find her rhythm and knock down shots to level out the score 10-11 with only seconds left on the clock.

With the game able to fall into the hands of either team, it wasnā€™t until Obuekwe stepped up and went to the line where her 2 points made all the difference to help Access2Sports close out the game successfully.

Islingtonā€™s MVP, Esther Obuekwe, said, ā€œItā€™s a fantastic feeling to win, especially since we had to come back from being down at the half. Team work pays off and I believe we all did our part to contribute to todayā€™s success. Itā€™s amazing how quickly weā€™ve all bonded by playing basketball, and so itā€™s really special to celebrate as a team.ā€
