The game between Southwark Legends and Activities4U was close down the stretch and went into overtime before Southwark’s Nelson Adetydle hit a three to help the Legends pull away with a 3 point win to finish 34-31 on Sunday 10th April 2016.

The first half was entertaining from the start with sharp shooters’ Miles Sewell (A4U)Ā going head to head againstĀ Southwark’s Paul Yusuf to hit back to back threes. A team effort from A4U’s Daryl and Da-Shane Montries on the defensive end helped their team dominate and sustain a close lead of 15-16 going into the half.

Down by one, Southwark Legends’ Nelson Adetydle took control to create his own shot and bank 9 points before the start of the final quarter.

With moments left in the game, both teams traded baskets before Da-Shane hit a three for A4U, followed by Southwark’s Paul Yusuf who answered back with a three of his own to tie the game 28-28, going into overtime.

Refusing to take their foot off the gas, Southwark’s Lanre AworihĀ controlled the game well, and although A4U’s Daryl managed to squeeze in another three before the clock ran out, Southwark maintained composure to finish the game by 3.

Legends’ MVP, Nelson Adetydle, said, “We play to win and that’s what happened today. Activities4U were good completion for us, so I’m glad we played hard until the end to come away with the W.”
