East London’s Red Ravens exploded to life after they swooped away with a gutsy 26-7 win over Camden Panthers on Sunday 27th November 2016 in the Community Basketball League.

Lead scorer, Kaitlann Mahagwe, finished with 8 points in total and remains tough competition again this year.

Renowned for her strength and speed, team mate, Precious Anekwe, also proved too much for Camden to handle as she helped Ravens fly into the lead 16-2 by the end of the half.

However, Camden Panthers are no push over. These new arrivals played a quick game, running their plays efficiently to help team player, Rita Morina, score points and keep Camden in the mix.

The game was exciting throughout, and after a final bucket from Jessica Santo, Ravens secured themselves their first victory of the CBL 2016/17 season.

Ravens MVP, Kaitlann Mahagwe, said, “We couldn’t be happier to win our first game, and it’s great to be back on court with my friends playing the game we love. We’re going to continue to work hard as the goal is to go all the way and win this year’s finals.”
