Gintaras maintained their perfect record in the U14 division and firmly established themselves as the team to beat in moving to 9-0 with a commanding win against the London Pulse.

Both teams appeared evenly matched in the first quarter, although Gintaras’ irrepressible Alonas Peciulis continued to demonstrate why he is one of the leading candidates for league MVP this season as he powered the Gintaras attack with 7 of his teams first 10 points in the quarter.

As the second quarter got underway, Gintaras Tadas Girnius took the scoring flame on from Peciulis with 8 points in quick succession on a range of piercing drives to the basket, for which the Pulse had no answer. Gintaras stepped up their intensity on the defensive end, limiting the Pulse to just 3 points throughout the second as they took an 11 point lead into the half, 21-10.

The second half brought more of the same as Gintaras continued to pile on the pressure on defense, forcing turnovers and clamping down on the Pulse attack. With Peciulis continuing to score at will, enroute to a game high 14 point personal haul, Gintaras ran out comfortable winners 42-14. For his strong all-around play, Peciulis was aptly awarded game MVP.
