The Kensington and Chelsea Knights continue to climb up the U14 Central Division standings with a well-earned victory against the short-handed Hackney Jedis by a score of 26-7.

Despite the difference in margin and depth on the benches, both teams played hard and displayed great team work and defence in the first half, to keep one another at bay and the score within just 2 points at the break.

Whatever was said in the K&C team huddle during half-time, clearly worked wonders as the Knights came out in the third quarter on fire – going on a 10-0 run in the period.  Led by the steadily improving Adam Beu-Ayed, the Knights maintained their grip on the game throughout the fourth quarter with another 10 points, to push the game beyond the Jedi’s reach.

“We are continuing to get better as the weeks go on and the guys are improving their listening skills.  We still have a long way to go, but I’m proud of the effort and togetherness of the team and the way they responded to our coaching in the second half” K&C’s head coach Josh Cole said.

For Hackney, Luke Stockwell (2), Lulas Coudour (2), and Chace Elliot-Pamuns (3) all featured on the score sheet, but without their leading scorer Dean  DeFreitas-Smith who was unavailable on the day, they were too short-handed to respond to the Knights attack.

Knights’ Adam Beu-Ayed earned the MVP title as he led all scorers with 6 points and 2 assists, whilst team mate, Camilo Ramirez, added another 5 points of his own to help their side finish strong and secure another win for the Knights.
