Sunday 6th March 2016 saw Frenford Falcon’s basketball star, Teddy Barnes, put on a fantastic performance in the Community Basketball League despite his team losing out to Harrow Blackhawks (70-29).

Despite their record, Frenford Falcons prove they have the skill set to be a dominant force on court and so started off the game dominating against Harrow with double trouble Piraveen Partheepan and Teddy Barnes knocking down threes early on in the first quarter.

Knowing that Falcons’ possessed sharp shooters, Harrow worked hard to lock down their opponents whilst Leo Regala, Ethan Torriello and Joao Barradas all contributed 4 points each to put the Blackhawks in front 31-11 going into the half.

Although down, Falcons were determined to keep playing and Vlad Bolshakor and Munashe Chiskaka showed out to add a bucket each to their team’s score to help Falcons shrink the gap to 43-22 before the final period.

Both teams seemed to save the best of their game to last as the fourth quarter saw back to back threes from Falcons’ Teddy Barnes against Harrow’s Leo Regala.

Despite Falcon’s perseverance, Leo Regala continued to push through to bank a further 8 points, allowing Harrow to take home the win.

In a losing effort, Falcon’s game MVP, Teddy, said, “I’m proud of my team as we always fight until the end. It was a good game and I’m glad we dominated at certain points to up the competition. We’re going to continue to work hard to come back stronger for our next game.”
