Gintaras (10-0) come into the first round of the U14 playoffs as the strong favourites against an unpredictable Harrow Blackhawks (3-7).
Gintaras are led by division MVP candidate Alonas Peciulis, the league’s leading scorer at 14.8ppg and Tadas Girnius (10.4ppg) who have both torn through all competition during the regular season, in leading Gintaras to a perfect 10-0 regular season record. Gytis Konzeliauskas (9.5ppg) has also been a solid and consistent performer for the Lithuanian’s this season, who will look to complete their perfect season with a run towards the division title.
Harrow Blackhawks fought their way into the playoffs in the last game of the season, narrowly pushing out Westside for the 8th spot The Blackhawks are led by Tryone Glean (5.1ppg) and Tyler Gordon (3.8ppg), who both are capable of causing match up problems on their day. Free-flowing and athletic, the Blackhawks will roll into the first quarter matchup with a ‘nothing to lose’ attitude in search of the upset.
CBL INSIDER: “Gintaras are the strong favourites in this one with Peciulis being the key player to watch. He’s been the best player in the division this season so expect him to raise his game another level now the playoffs are here. Tyrone Glean is an intriguing talent for the Blackhawks, with his rough and ready athleticism – if he gets it going, you never know what may happen in a one game decider”.
