Dagenham Dragons were on fire in their game against Islington’s Activities4U (A4U) when they won 41-37 on Sunday at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.

The first half of the game proved exciting with both teams hitting back to back threes before A4U’s Montries had 8 points in the first quarter to help put Islington in front 19-13.

A 6 point trail seemed to be all that Dragons needed for them to turn up the heat as they picked up the game with lead scorer, G.Ruzila, attacking the basket well to finish as lead scorer with a total of 17 points overall.

Although Islington fought back with good defence to slow the game down, it wasn’t enough to overcome Ruzila’s leadership and contribution which ensured Dragons finished strong with a 4 point edge.

Ruzila said, ‘I’m happy we won because it proves we work hard as a team and our hard work pays off. I enjoy playing in the CBL because it helps me to get better as a player.’
