Islington’s Activities4U (A4U) continue their winning streak after their U12 team beat Kennington Generals 26-16 on Sunday 29th November.

This week’s games took place at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre and saw A4U’s, Summer Eytle-Rock, display sharp shooting skills to help lead her team 14-4 going into the half.

Despite their loss, Kennington didn’t give up and played team basketball until the end. General’s Nathan Gebrehewit attacked the basket well to score 6 points in the second half whilst team mate, Omar Williams, made his free throws to help Kennington end with a total of 16 points.

However, Kennington’s effort wasn’t enough to overcome A4U’s, Joe Watson, who finished by scoring a solid 4 points to help Islington close out the game with a 10 point edge.

A4U’s game MVP, Watson, said, ‘Today was a lot of fun and I like playing against Kennington because they make me a better player.’

Islington’s U16 team also had a successful win against Kennington Generals with the game MVP, Pedro Hounam, displaying another standout performance to finish with a personal high of 16 points in total.

A4U are having a great season in the Community Basketball League (CBL), and are becoming known as the team to beat.
