This year’s CBL U25 Playoff Final was a brilliant showcase of the league’s finest talent with both Activities4U All StarsĀ and Kennington Generals putting on a remarkable show that eventually saw A4U shine bright as they claimed the U25 Championship with a 46-23 win over Kennington.

As expected, the game was tight from the first quarter asĀ A4U’sĀ Juan Manning set the tone of the game early by scoring 4 points whilst team mates, Khalid Ibrahim and Alex Sappa, made their free throws to put the All Stars up 9-6.

The second quarter saw both teams capitalise on every possession, especially as A4U’s dynamic duo, Alex Sappa fired a three before Khalid Ibrahim impressed with his handle to get to the basket and add another bucket to ensure his team ledĀ 13-10 going into the half.

With the game in full swing, Kennington’s Gilles Louthe and L. De La Cruz worked well together to move the ball which enabled Kennington to take the lead 13-14 withĀ seconds left in the third.

However, as if offended by losing control of the game, A4U went on a 8 point run as both Alex Sappa and Kayne Miller delivered with signature slam dunks, Khalid IbrahimĀ continued to impress with great ball handling to lose his opponents on his way to the basket, all whilst MVP, Juan Manning, along with team mate, M Allshuler, continued to light it up from down town and net four threes to help their side take home the W.

Awarded for his maturity and leadership, Juan Manning received the MVP title. Manning said, “What a game! Kennington are great competition and so they made us play harder which is everything you want in a Final. This has been a great season for us. The CBL is the best place to improve and showcase your talent, and so we’re looking forward to next season already where we intendĀ to defend ourĀ title!”
