About Us

Kennington Basketball Club was formed in 2006 to provide local opportunities for youngsters to learn how to play basketball and compete in accessible competitions – all with the underlying purpose of developing character and good citizenship in young adults through the life skills basketball builds.

While we are proud of the many successful on court achievements of our players over the years, we are even prouder of the positive impact the Generals have had in the community in so many different walks of life.

The club was founded by former GB International Jay ‘Junior’ Williams with the blessing and support from the greatest player of all-time, Michael Jordan, who invested his own money into helping refurbish the Generals home court in Lambeth.

The Generals are a great example of the powerful impact grassroots basketball can play in uplifting a community and we continue to welcome new members to our club, from absolute beginners on up, and also encourage parents, friends and members of the local community to get in contact and join us as volunteers looking for an opportunity to help make a positive impact on the lives of our local youth.
